| Michael Whitehouse: Michael is the President, Treasurer, and Clerk of Phoenix Games. He graduated cum laude from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a BA in Economics and a concentration in Game Theory. His favorite games include Puerto Rico, Settlers of Catan, GURPS, and Axis & Allies. He enjoys long walks on the beach and candlelit dinners.. (oh wait, wrong site!). He currently runs a Hackmaster game every week among other gaming activities. He now travels to distant lands representing his favorite game distributor, Centurion Hobby. |

Adam Bailey: Adam was president of the UMass Science Fiction Society from 1980-1982. He first wandered by the store in search of Heroclix, and then stuck around for other events. After a bit of a hiatus, he is back and playing in games again.

Liam Banack: Liam is a bit young to have gotten into gaming, but I am sure that in time, he will join the fold.
![]() |
Coureton Dalton: Games run, swordsmen trained, Rocky casts directed. Is there anything Coureton cannot do? Well, I'm not sure how good he is at flower arranging. He is one of the trainers who run the boffer practice every Sunday afternoon, running much of the warm-up and drill activity. Coureton also ran a GURPS game based on the Red Star comic book series, and someday he might be convinced to run another game. Coureton can be recognized by his long sleeves, vest, and combat boots which he wears in all weather. About his vest he said, "the only time I don't wear a vest is when I am topless."

Erin Fitzgerald: Erin, often know as Fizzy because she is, met Michael through the Come Again Players in late 2006. She is not at the Store often, but it is such an exciting event when she does show up that she totally deserved a spot on this page. She's also a hot redhead, which is an asset to any web page. Fizzy is an officer of The Renegades, the MHC gaming club, and is all around pretty awesome. |

Nikki G: Nikki is the opposite of Bill. She is small, female, and not an electrician. She was brought to the store by Kiernan as a groupie, but she soon joined Duncan's GURPS game and has been a gamer ever since.
![]() Lazy-ninja on the Forums |
Kiernan Gulick-Sherrill: Kiernan has a certain fashion sense all his own, to the point that he has been asked which pronoun he prefers. He is a fan of goofy games like Ninja Burger, Munchkin and Strange Synergy. When he is not playing one of these games, he is usually trying to rope people into playing one with him. When he's not doing that, he works |

Gwendolyn Gustavson: Gwen has been pestering my for weeks to put her on this page, so I finally did it. This is fair since I pestered her to come to the Store for months before she finally did. Actually, she didn't come until Kiernan asked her to, after which she showed up very soon after. Apparently Gwen likes really scrawny femmie girls and boys, so Kiernan perfectly fit the bill. We recruit more regulars that way.
![]() |
Tam Josbeck: Tam (the one in the middle) is many things. Magic player, teacher, theoretical physicist, unruley child tamer, and more. Like a few other regulars, he started coming for the Booster Draft and kept on coming for various other random events. He is working on a project to get the Store selling more Magic singles among other things.
![]() |
Allan Jenkinson: Allan frequents the store and brings us news of the gaming world. He also runs the occasional Legends of the Five Rings one shot. When not gaming, he enjoys mocking other customers and sucking out Erin's brain. Allan does not like having his picture taken, so this is the best picture we could get. |
|||

Charles Katholi: Charles is our faithful Heroclix Judge who runs Heroclix events every Sunday. He has also taken a recent interest in Lord of the Rings Miniatures. If you want to know about obscure 60's music, Charles is your guy. He also runs a business on the side of converting old records to CDs.
![]() |
Alec MacLeod: He is Alec MacLeod of the clan MacLeod. He is 400 years... no wait, wrong MacLeod. Alec first started coming to Phoenix Games to play in the Magic Booster Draft. In time, he started coming earlier and earlier on Thursdays and playing various other games. He now shows up on Tuesday night to play D&D, and often runs Paranoia on Wednesday. There can be only one. |

Jason Malstrom: Jason has been with the store from the beginning. In fact, he was almost a partner in the store. He was an employee until having employees became impractical. Now, Jason can often be found in the store painting miniatures, running or playing in Hackmaster games, or just hanging out.
![]() |
Adam "Llama" Persons: Adam has jumped in with both feet to helping keep Phoenix going. He ran the Pirates CMG night for a few months. He helps with coverage, and he generally does things he sees that need to be done. Why is he named "Llama"? Probably because it sounded better than "Platypus".
![]() |
Chris Poulin: Chris sort of faded into focus at the store. He moved into the area in front of the largest tree this side of the Mississippi. We're not entirely sure where he comes from, although we think there is a lot of chocolate there because he often brings us some. Once he was here, we were very glad to have him. Not only does he help Aradia clean the store, but he also has stepped up to start running WizKids Pirates games on Friday nights.
|
Ana Steiner: Tex brought Ana in one day and she just kept coming. Then, she went off to school but found herself in geek withdrawl and rushed back. Ana is now one of our dedicated Store helper folks, and her name is not pronounced the way you think.
![]() |
Lisa Steventon: This is Lisa, who was dragged here kicking and screaming by Jess. Then she discovered that we were awesome, got into the GURPS game, and finally complained because she was not on the Regulars page. She has been quite active in the Store and has certainly deserved her space on this page. Well, here she is dressed as the hottest Trill Federation officer ever.
![]() |
Dan Stubbs: Dan has been coming to the Store for many moons. I don't actually remember how long, but a really long time. He usually has a face, but it was not available at the time this picture was taken. Dan enjoys most role playing games that involve dice. I bet he enjoys those that do not involve dice as well.
![]() |
Jason Stubbs: Jason Stubbs, the brother of Dan (pictured above) came to us quite some time ago. He gamed with us, hung out with us, and eventually moved into Squire Village. For the sake of organizational simplicity, Jason is living with Lisa.

Erin Whittey: Erin's official title is store owner's girlfriend, but she is much more than that. She is store painting elf, beautiful garb model, occasional GM, RPG player and more. She has helped out the store in numerous ways. Today, she provides moral support to the haggard owner and sometimes watches the store in times of need. It could be said that without Erin the store might not still be here today.
![]() |
Pete Wilkins: Pete has been a fixture at the store almost as long as the store has been open. For a time, he was actually here more hours per week than the people who actually worked here. He can often be seen here playing role playing or strategy games or just reading some sourcebook.
![]() |
Aradia Willard: Aradia goes by Diane to the rest of the world because they are too lame to grasp the awesomeness of the name Aradia. She first wandered into the store the Saturday before Halloween looking for a Super Nintendo. Turned out she didn't need to buy one, she just wanted to play Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past. Fortunately, I had just such a thing at my apartment. I brought it up and she's been around ever since, filling the Store with piraty goodness and emptying it of nasty dirt.
![]() |
Rachel Zuckerman: Rachel's association with the Store started entirely by chance when her fiance wandered into the Store one day. Erin and I ran into them at the Route 9 Diner a few weeks later, and before long, Erin and I were renting the spare room in Rachel's apartment. Rachel can occasionally be seen in the Store, often with one of her ferrets in tow.

![]() |
Laura Collins: When I first spoke to Laura, I asked her why she didn't hang out at the store. She said that she didn't have any money to buy anything. I asked what that had to do with anything. Ever since, she has been spending most of the week hanging out here, playing games, chatting, or being tied up with dice bags.
![]() |
Shannon McAuliffe: Shannon is a singer, actress, and generally drop dead gorgeous woman. She is not, sadly, a gamer, but this does not stop her spending a great deal of time around the Phoenix folks. This makes the Phoenix folks very happy.
![]() |
Xandra: Xandra is among the many people that Kiernan has brought to the store. She comes from South Hadley and Atlanta before that. Now, she dances (in a way that stops traffic), helps with Rocky and tries to figure out what all these wierd gamers are doing, when she is not too busy with school work.
Seasonal and Not-so Regulars |

![]() James Blair: Back in the old days when we thought we could afford to have employees, James had the honor of being one of them. More recently, James has taken up Legend of the Five Rings which has led him to spend a great deal of time in Phoenix Games, both actually playing L5R and petting a lot of girls' hair. James is very much into Deadlands (owning almost every book every put out for the game and currently running two games of it), and he also holds a nearly encyclopedic knowledge of D&D as well as a few other systems. James is also known for his substantial stature. Being nearly a head taller than anyone else here, he actually has to duck slightly to get through the front door. |
|||
![]() |
Zach "Tex" Dunehew: Tex was in the vanguard of the Amherst Region High School contingent which is now swelling the ranks of our regulars. He is involved in about 5 games, and we watch to make sure he does not fail out of school. As his picture suggests, Tex drinks about 5-7 cups of coffee in one sitting. Considering that fact, he is remarkably mellow.
![]() |
April-Lyn Caouette: April-Lyn slowly joined the ranks of our regulars. She started spending a little time here, then a little more, and before she knew it her soul belonged to...um...she was spending a great deal of time here. April-Lyn plays L5R as well as participating in a couple of the RPGs that go on here at Phoenix Games. April-Lyn is quiet and sometimes fades into the background, but she is well worth the effort to notice.
![]() |
Mike Miseph: Mike has the unique distinction of being the first person ever to win a prize at Phoenix Games. Back when I thought that giving away $75 gift certificates for nothing was a good idea, Mike was lucky enough to benefit from my inexperience. Now, Mike goes to college in Upstate New York, and during his summers he spends much of his time and money at Phoenix Games. He has gotten into Legend of the Five Rings CCG as well as a variety of RPGs.
![]() |
![]() Chris Rose: Chris is the store's resident storyteller. He has the gift of the Bard and a deep well of stories to draw from. He has also been known to run a game of Star Wars or two, and will often join into whatever Role Playing Game is at hand. Fireborn is his new interest, and as such he is currently running a game of it. |
|||
![]() |
Aaron "Cooper" Rubman: Like Prometheus bringing fire to humankind, Cooper brought Legend of the Five Rings to Phoenix Games. Instead of getting his liver eaten, he found a girlfriend, which we think is quite an improvement. Cooper is involved in a few RPGs in the store as well as running and L5R game. His imagination sometimes gets the best of him and he starts developing his own game system such as special strategic multiplayer rules for the L5R CCG and a political D&D campaign world.
Note: It took us at the Store quite a while to find an example of a figure who did a good deed and was rewarded for it. We eventually gave up. |
|||
![]() |
Crystal Russell: Crystal is one of the many immigrants to Sunderland brought in by the Store. Actually, she came to visit one day, and her car broke down. In normal places, she would have gotten her car towed home. In the Phoenix Community, she got an apartment, a job, and a fiance. It's true. resistance to the Phoenix Collective is futile.
![]() |
Brian Sabo: Brian is the store massage guy. He is working on getting his massage certification and practices on our customers at our private movie showings. He also dabbles in GMing, and has been known to run a oneshot or two.
![]() |
Jess Schanckertz: Erin's description of Jess is "she's so cute!" Jess is a little bit of this and a little bit or that from here and from there. Until very recently, she was a gamer groupie, but we have finally brought her into the fold. At first, she found the store creepy because we were all too friendly, but then she got over it and discovered that it was worse than she had ever imagined.
|
Jaime Taylor: Jaime is one of the many who has moved to Sunderland to be closer to the Store, or possibly closer to Kiernan. There is no longer a pot in her hand, although, she has been known to cook dinner in a pot and bring said pot to the store to eat out of. Many people think of the Store as their living room. For her, it is her dining room. As you can see, she is holding a book. Phoenix Games is also Jaime's library.
![]() |
Jeff Tingley: Jeff is one of Phoenix Games' two master White Wolf storytellers. First, he ran a Vampire game, and the next year, he ran Demon on Friday nights. During the summers, Six Flags claims him mind, body, and soul, but the rest of the year, we are lucky enough to have him run games here. Jeff's favorite White Wolf game is Changeling, but he tends to run better supported games at the store to help us out.
