Many interesting things happen at Phoenix Games, some of which have something to do with gaming. This was an interesting thing but with nothing about gaming.

In this particular case, Katie needed some help preparing her outfit for her photo shoot. She is May for the Come Again Players calendar and she was going with a May Day theme.

This theme required turning her into a very attractive human maypole. You see here Aradia tucking some loose ribbons. Really, it's not as dirty as it looks.

This, on the other hand, I'm pretty sure is as dirty as it looks.

This GURPS game has run on Wednesday night for many years at Phoenix Games. At times it has had over nine players. At others it reached a more managable six. The only original players left are Jason and Dan, plus the GM, of course.

D&D novels are not huge sellers here. When I found out that my distributor had backorders for some books, I set to making a list of all the novels we had and sending them in. Turned out that he needed about 40 of them, which was good news for our overfull bookshelf.

July was not all fun and games. We found ourselves six months behind on the rent and facing eviction. As always, the community pulled together to save the day. We got a generous loan from an anonymous benefactor and formed a Business Team to stay on top of things. Nothing can keep a community this strong down.

Filk Night

For a few months we had a modest filk night running on Sunday nights after board game day. It ran through the summer but eventually ended when the board games ran late and the music and games started to interfere with each other. In a game store, games win.
