April Gallery...Phoenix Games May 2004 Gallery...June Gallery

This Gallery is dedicated to the number 3, the letter A, and Rachel who is in Europe missing us and being missed by all of us at the Store.

Female Gamer Appreciation Month
May, 2004 was the second annual Female Gamer Appreciation Month. It was quite a bit more involved that last year's. This year we had over half a dozen events and many people spending all kinds of time at the store all month.
Back Rub Competition and More
We kicked off May with a Back Rub Competition. The event turned out so well that people insisted that we should do it four times a year rather than just once.

Chris and Coureton have boffers in their hands. That's no way to give a backrub. While waiting for the competition to start, a few people got a little restless and took a few swings outside.

Coureton didn't need that arm or leg anyway. Get rid of the excess weight. It just slows you down.

While Coureton and Chris took a breather, Tegan and Erin had a go.

The epic battle between Chris and Coureton resumed. In the end Chris lost the match...and his shirt.

Ever wonder who the first people up against the wall would be and what they'd be doing? They'll be these folks...watching boffing.

Alright, enough fooling around. The judges are lined up and it is time to begin the competition.

The judges were blindfolded to prevent favoritism. Of course, by the time it was over, I'm not sure they could see straight even without the blindfolds.

"What's this button do?"
This is what happens when you let someone else use the camera. Of course, I was participating as an non-competitor, so my hands were busy at the time.

The work of a back rub competition judge is never done. At least that's what they wish.

The contestants and judges relax after a long hard Back Rub Competition. Hard to believe this is a candid shot, isn't it?

It also turns out that Erin's birthday was around this time. Elisa was nice enough to make a Rocky Horror themed corset and lips cake for her. This was the beginning of a series of Phoenix Games birthday parties which we hosted through the summer.
Mid-Month Antics

Brian the Massage Guy does his thing. Tegan certainly seems to feel appreciated.

Rachel tips over a bit after giving blood. Fortunately, we had the perfect button for her to wear.

Another birthday, another corset cake.

Chris looks in amusement at the corset cake made for his birthday.

Chris' birthday was quite an event. Unfortunately, it did not go so well for Allan's Star Wars game that the party landed in the middle of. (That is why there is a table full of Star Wars stuff with no players around it.)

A rare picture of goth gamers seen outside, during the day, in the sun.

In May, we hosted the pre-release event for the new Vampire: the Eternal Struggle expansion Gehenna. It wasn't the 15 people that we had for the last pre-release, but it was still a good time.

Who needs chairs and tables when we have a perfectly good floor?

Why are there strange people outside the Store and what are they doing with that camera. Apparently, it was a school project for an economics class and they decided to make a movie about prostitution. I'm not sure if I should be honored or insulted that they chose the Store as the place to shoot it.

Is that a huge mace you have there or are you just happy to see us?
Gamer Slumber Party
During this May we did a few things for the first time. One of those things was the free-form overnight event.

Tuesday D&D Players Gone Wild

The players in my D&D game wandered outside for a bit. Getting any game started can be much like herding cats.

Brian's fellow party members express their appreciation.
Mike and the Pride Ride

Mike has a little fuscha SUV. I have a picture of it. Now you can see it. Just for the record, Mike is straight, and we would still respect him if he was not.
